Hand-crafting fine jewellery for over 50 years.

1966

Founded in 1966 by Ivan Vortouni and his wife Vivienne, the then young jeweller was brimming with a passion for quality and unique stones. Ivan rapidly built the business to be renowned for its world class collection of opals and unique custom-made jewels that were true statement pieces.

1993

Trina Vortouni, Ivan and Vivienne eldest daughter officially started working at Giulians.

1996

Gary Coffey began pursuing his career in jewellery in 1979. In 1996, Gary joined Giulians as Head Jeweller. He is now the Creative Director of Giulians.

Dana – Ivan and Vivienne’s youngest daughter also joined the Giulians family business in 1996.

2001

Giulians received international exposure, with Gary Coffey winning the International Tahitian Pearl Design Competition. His design, titled ‘Tahiti-bound’ featured twin 18ct white gold bracelets in the style of hand cuffs. 32 Tahitian cultured pearls were secured on 18ct white gold rods, with 400 fine white round brilliant cut diamonds pave set into the bands. The cuffs were linked together by an 18ct white gold boat anchor chain.

2006

Joel Coffey, Gary’s son, joined the Giulians team as an Apprentice jeweller. Joel is now a master jeweller who thrives on the collaborative process and art of creating handcrafted bespoke and unique pieces.

2010

In 2010 Giulians relocated from their historic location of 2 Bridge Street, into the Four Seasons Hotel. The new location gave an opportunity to design a more intimate boutique, where clients new and old, could be welcomed like family. Maintaining the presence of the onsite studio was also of utmost importance.
